Pip is a self-taught photographer out of London, United Kingdom. Without any education or experience in photography whatsoever he bought a camera, started shooting and became really good at it too! It is a photographers succes story which we have heard before, and essentially contains the same message we always try to convey: Quit school and go do something fun!
“Out of naivety I took a slightly unconventional route into professional photography. I didn’t go to college or university, or even serve my time as an assistant. I saved up, bought a camera and simply went out taking photos of friends who were aspiring musicians and models, to get experience. When I started to actually know what I was doing I was able to take on more ambitious projects and use my equipment more creatively, which lead to capturing better images”
(I’m inspired by) any form of art that creates an impact. I’m constantly surrounded by photography, music, fashion and film, which are all vehicles for story-telling. I’m inspired by any artists who can marry visual, audio or literary brilliance with emotional impact.
I like powerful imagery; photographs that make you think. I think these shots have an element of mystery to them – you want to know why the subjects are where they are, and what they’re thinking about.” – Pip
